The MAD Entrepreneurs’ Unconference gives you the exact steps to win more business, make more money and manage your business better, so you can spend more time doing the things you love. At The MAD Entrepreneurs’ Unconference, they will learn how entrepreneurs disrupt industry markets through their innovative products and services. Besides that, the event help participants learn to use creative strategies to leverage on their limited marketing budget to reach more people with lower cost incurred and how to build a business that can scale and ultimately works without them.

The MAD Entrepreneurs’ Unconference is a platform to reach out to more businesses; and it is an opportunity to discover new ideas, talents and hidden gems in other parts of Malaysia. This event acts as a good platform for startups to meet hundreds of like-minded entrepreneurs and business owners who can share their experiences in their entrepreneurial journey, and also potential joint venture partners and mentors to help grow entrepreneurs’ business. This platform will also enable entrepreneurs to reach out to investors who are eager for the next big idea.

MAD Incubator anticipated to attract more than 120 participants to converge in MSC Malaysia Technology Commercialization Centre, Multimedia University, and Cyberjaya for this event. 1. Each speaker is allocated a time slot of 30 minutes (20 minutes + 10 minutes Q&A).

2. 13 speakers will be selected

Speaker Name: Ashran Dato’ Ghazi

Talk Title: Lessons I’ve Learned from Business Failures

Ashran Dato’ Ghazi is a man of multiple hats. Like many other entrepreneurs, he has gone through the ups and downs of business ventures and is now a known figure in the entrepreneurship ecosystem. This is embodied in the many organizations that he represents which includes Chairman – New Entrepreneurs Foundation(myNEF), Chairman – myHarapan, President – Malaysian Association of Bumiputera ICT Industry & Entrepreneurs(NEF), and Deputy Chairman – Global Innovation & Entrepreneurship Foundation. In addition, he also serves as a Board Member for SME Corp and an Advisory Board Member to Malaysian SME Development Academy (MASMED).

Ashran’s career has been one of diversity where he started in the Oil & Gas sector via Petronas MITCO and then moving into the construction industry. He started his entrepreneurial journey in early 2000, and has been mainly involved in various fields, which led him to establish Asiastream Group, a company that focuses in technology, communications/media and human capital development. In 2011, he co founded a Startup called Joota that was going to disrupt social networking by connecting people around content. It was able to garner private investments of USD2.1mil, with patent and distribution partners in the USA.

Besides his direct ventures, Ashran also serves as Advisor, Mentor, Board Member and Chairman to few other companies which includes venture builders, accelerators, and startups.

Ashran’s journey thus far can be described as one that has been fueled by passion of always wanting to challenge the status quo for positive impact. He does not like to do anything that is deemed normal which is evident from the many firsts that he has introduced or initiated either from a social or business aspect. His more recent new initiative includes creating an accelerator for the creative sector via comics – ComicXcel and a new ASEAN regional award for Startups – Rice Bowl Startup Awards, which will debut this Nov 2015.

Vince Tan is the Founder and Chief Awesomeness Officer – Shock Media Studio, eduPOW, Social Property, Model Houz.

Vince Tan is an international speaker, marketer, strategist and entrepreneur. He started programming at the tender age of 7 and went on to create websites at age 12. He started his first web company at age 17, and became the youngest lecturer at age 21, after graduating top of his class in his university. By age 25, he had built over 25,000 websites and made his first million. His area of expertise in creating online product launches that generate 6 and 7 figures in sales within the first few hours.

In recognition of his astounding success, he was brought onto the global stage by the organisers for Tony Robbins and Bill Clinton, to speak and train thousands of students worldwide on online marketing in 20 cities around the world, in just 2 years. He then chose to settle down with the love of his life and was soon blessed with triplet daughters. During that period of time, Vince established Shock Media Studio, the fastest growing digital agency in Asia; eduPOW, the largest online learning portal in South East Asia’ and a string of other tech startups. Talk Title: Discruptive Entrepreneurship – How Entrepreneurs Under 30 Are Changing The World

Michael Teoh is the Founder of Thriving Talents, a company that consults and trains youth talents in organisations and universities to succeed in life and work. First established in 2012, the ‘Gen-Y centric’ corporate training company has worked some of the largest names in the corporate world with clients like Microsoft, Intel, the British High Commission (U.K.), BROTHER and President Obama’s Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative in developing talents in leadership, entrepreneurship and personal mastery skills.

His company’s work in developing the Gen-Y workforce has been featured on CNN, BBC, the United Nations and the Malaysia Book of Records, whilst spreading their training footprints to 34 countries. Michael was recognized as Malaysia’s Most Enterprising Youth by the Global Entrepreneurship Week in 2010 and PRESTIGE Top 40 Under 40. Globally he is winner of Your Big Year, the largest social entrepreneurship competition contested among 45,000 people in 168 countries in 2011. Today, Michael is the co-author of Potential Matrix™, a fast-growing personal development book to unleash the potentials of people for success.

He is also the youngest board member sitting on the boards of several public organizations which includes the National Student Volunteers Foundation under the Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister and the Ministry of Education. She is a serial entrepreneur who brought in over S$1,000,000 of sales into her businesses in retail, manufacturing, training and events. She is also the co-curator of TEDxSingapore, mentor of NEST Mentoring program (initiated by ACE – led by Mr Teo Ser Luck, Minister of State for Trade and Industry).

Lim Kok Hing, aged 51, is the Executive Director of iPay88 Sdn. Bhd. and is fully involved in the operation of the company. He is a qualified civil engineer graduated from The University of Malaya (“UM”). His 25 years experience in overall management,together with his vision and foresight are steering iPay88 Sdn. Bhd. through the high competitive environment. He is actively involved in risk management and worked hard in setting up the policies and procedures for online fraud prevention. He continue puts in his effort in enhancing and maintaining the operation of iPay88 Sdn. Bhd. to meet international payment service standard and providing professional customer service to all merchants and online customers.

He also builds up a good relationship and works closely with card brand associations, central banks and financial institutions in regional countries for compliance and risk prevention matters.

ACE EdVenture Studio is a Malaysian-based education games development studio. Vincent leads the game production activities and day-to-day operations of the business. Vincent and his team of academicians, designers, artists, programmers and marketeers are scheduled to launch ChemCaper, the world’s first complete Chemistry role-playing game, in June 2015. The game elevates learning Chemistry into the digital realm, bringing the fascination with the subject onto screens and takes the dread out of learning.

Andrew Wong is an entrepreneur and business innovator with 18 years experience in entrepreneurship. Andrew specializes in turning ideas/innovation into business and has mentored more than 2000 startup companies in his entire incubation career.
